Speaking
and Presentation Skills School Attendee Comments
"The two-day
speaking skills class was excellent. I gained many new ideas on
how to structure my speech, develop my theme and deliver my content.
You did a fantastic job and it is easy to see why you are so highly
regarded in your field. You definitely show mastery in delivery
and creation of content."
Charles Whitman, President, Infinium

"Thank you very much for the fabulous Fripp Speaking School weekend.
I especially appreciate the opportunity to try out my Speakaholic
piece. Thank you for the audience and for fitting me into the schedule.
The feedback was extremely valuable."
Dan Poynter, Author (120+ books), Publisher (since 1969),
Speaker (CSP). Para Publishing

"Thanks so much for a fantastic two-day speaking school experience.
In my 30 years in business, procuring training for myself and staff,
this is absolutely the best training investment I have made. Most
times one goes to a training event and hopes that it meets 50% of
your expectations. In this case it was so much more than I ever
hoped it would be. We will be working diligently on our presentation
and look forward to working with you one-on-one in the near future."
Dave Mistick, President, Church Restoration Group

"What an amazing two-day speaking school. As someone who has been
teaching speaking seminars for years...you ARE the very best! When
it comes to teach speaking skills you are off the charts. That is
why I can't wait for our collaboration."*
Ty Boyd, President, Ty Boyd's Executive Learning Systems

"Prior to the two-day Fripp Speaking School, I would have assumed
one course would be plenty. After learning so much I will return
for further sessions, both to hone my craft and benefit from the
high caliber networking. My time and money were a great investment.
I learned my strengths and how to maximize them. Also, the habits
that needed to be eliminated became clear and the reasons why. What
an added bonus to learn along side 30 other individuals who were
interesting, dynamic, professional, and willing to share their insights
and opinions."
Katherine Molder Collins, APR, KMC

Communications"I thoroughly enjoyed your speaking class in Las Vegas
and I'm now a fan for life. I've already incorporated a few 'nuggets
of your wisdom.' You are such a pro and I'm looking forward to participating
in future events.
Thank you again for being so much fun, energetic and especially
for your generosity with all your knowledge! FYI: I purchased your
DVD/CD Help
I Have To Give A Speech! I love it!
Janet Boydell, President, A Hire Connection

"Thank you for the wonderful speaking skills workshop in Las Vegas!
Your style is a fun and engaging and your delivery direct and educational.
This is just part of what I learned in the 2-day seminar; my main
focus, how to construct a presentation, and how to make it entertaining.
It was also a major plus that you tend to attract an exciting, intelligent,
charismatic group of people... I was thrilled to be in their company."
Robyn J.A. Silverman, PhD, President, Powerful Words Character
Development
"Your Speaking
and Presentation Skills School was awesome!!! The DVDs I invested
in are a very helpful follow up."
Bridgette Moran, Executive Director, Marin Farmers' Market
Association

" A big thank you for lending expertise, delighting in humor, and
sharing your vast knowledge and experience at the recent Speakers
workshop. Thanks to you I learned so much! My speaking has already
greatly improved because my new skills helped my confidence soar!
You are a master and I am humbled and honored to be your student."
Joy Jones
"Such a breakthrough
from Patricia Fripp's Speaking School. She exceeded my expectations!
It was the best investment I have made in a long time in developing
myself and my presentation skills."
Kathy Marcil

"Both the Fripp Speaking School and the Odd Couple were outstanding.
I took your suggestion and started doing a little speech coaching.
We are out pitching a new biotech and raising money for it. The
Chief Medical Officer is a great storyteller, and I had him add
live dialog to his stories. It transformed his presentation and
made it even more compelling."
Rod Whitson, Townsend Inc.

"After
attending the Fripp Two Day Speaking School I felt I had made a
financial investment more endearing than my college education. Your
creatively succinct methods brought out inspiration and motivation
similar to a mother's love. Your insightful inclusion of all participants
made me feel that I mattered. For that alone, you are much appreciated."
Gary Wright, Producer, Sensual Greetings Productions, Inc.
"I so enjoyed your speaking school. I was a sponge and soaked up
as much as I could. I am looking forward to attending another of
your presentation skills seminars. Public speaking has been in my
work area for the last 10 years. Thank you again for your wisdom
and knowledge."
Dee Treece
"Boy, have I been Frippersized! Your speaking school was an awesome,
incredible two-day experience in which I learned more than I ever
imagined. It was nonstop and a whole lot of fun!
I was so energized
after your training session that I just couldn't wait to put what
I had just learned to use! On the flight back to Indiana, I developed
the premise and structure for my upcoming presentation to our hospital
Board of Directors, using the Fripp Speaking System and several
techniques you taught us during this fast-paced two days of intensive
training. I know that by utilizing these techniques, I will be a
more dynamic and effective speaker for my organization and communicate
important messages in my leadership position that will be persuasive
as well as remembered.
Thank you
for making these two days of training such a worthwhile endeavor.
It just makes me think "I wish that I could have attended a Patricia
Fripp speaking school twenty-two years ago when I was first starting
my career in hospital administration. You are the best."
Steven
B. Reed, Executive Vice President, Union
Hospital Health Group

"I've been listening
to the Odd Couple CDs and love them! Your workshop and CDs are the
very first investment I've made in my (budding) speaking career,
and it looks like I made a very wise choice. I plan on attending
the full four days next year."
Jim Coburn

"Frippy, you
are flat-out brilliant! You gave the attendees at your speaking
school 150%. The key to a successful career for even the most advanced
speakers is implementing what you generously share. As a Hall of
Fame winner with 20 years experience, I am still absolutely overwhelmed,
excited, and amazed by what I learned from YOU. You gave a solid
structure to work with, not just fluffy advice."
Roger Crawford, CPAE, Author of How High Can You Bounce?

"It was a 10
across the board. You're a first class act. Three things I took
away from your session are:
1. Script
and rehearse the opening and the close - have it down cold.
2. Tell more
stories, using live dialog.
3. Use the
presentation outline model when preparing.
I'm planning
on attending next year and bringing a couple of people with me.
Thanks a ton."
Rod Whitson, President, Townsend Inc.

"Thanks for
your enthusiasm, energy, and wealth of knowledge. Your Speaker's
School absolutely exceeded my expectations. I honestly believe you
are underpricing the seminar!"
Barbara Poole, President, Poole Resources, Inc.

"The energy
hit me in the face. When Hurricane Patricia let loose, she didn't
let up for four full days. She changed my life forever."
John J. Daly, Jr. CSEP, President, John Daly International,
Inc.

"You're
fabulous, and the Speakers School and Odd Couple seminars were the
best value for my money I've received in a while. Well worth the
trip."
Scott Boates, President, Glast, Phillips & Murray, P.C.

"Wow! Thank
you for conducting an absolutely wonderful Speaker School. I arrived
with a deep desire to improve my story development ability and presentation
skillsand you and your seminar delivered exactly what I needed."
Ed Rigsbee, CSP, Rigsbee Enterprises, Inc. Author of "PartnerShift,"
"Developing Strategic Alliances," and "The Art of Partnering"

"I'm still reeling...I
learned so much and now think about so many things differently.
Truly one of the most informative, interesting experiences in my
professional life."
Dolores laGuardia, Santa Clara University

"A phenomenal
workshop. I kept marveling at your ability to craft such breathtaking
messages, lines, setups, and transitions. Watching you was like
watching a great artist at her canvas...stunning, exhausting, and
exhilarating."
Rick Hubbard, Office for Technology Management,
Author of the techo-Thriller Series "Silence the Bell"

"Thank you for
a wonderful experience and learning at your presentation skills
seminar. I got so much out of your workshop, and I have begun really
dissecting my stories and my successes to create stories. You make
it look so easy, but I know that because you do your homework and
perfect your craft.
Just one final
bit of praise--the transformation of Forrest and the oncology nurses
was amazing. When they told their stories they were so much more
grounded in their material and sounded more credible. Almost as
if to say, 'I know my material so well, I can afford to entertain
you as I teach.' Bravo."
Irene E. Castelot, Ph.D

"WOW!!
What a fabulous session you gave in Oklahoma on advanced presentation
techniques and marketing!!! Thank you for being here and sharing
your knowledge with us. I especially thank you for your insight
in coaching me on my camping story. You helped tremendously!"
Rebeka Graham

"What an amazing
three days. Your advanced presentation skills and speech coaching
training was one of the best educational experiences of my career.
As an experienced author and ghost writer for executives and professional
speakers, I will never be able to hear, write, or deliver a keynote
again without your resounding wisdom filtering the view.
It is not
unusual to attend a seminar and get all pumped up about learning
how to develop a skill, but then have the results short lived. However,
with the Fripp training experience, what I learned is not only practical,
new, brilliant and vivid, it is being implemented every day.
Now I can
look at a client's keynote and instantly make astute recommendations
that sell my writing services to my clients. You have been so empowering.
My clients are thrilled with how your techniques transform their
keynotes from 'I-focused' to 'audience-focused' so they engage every
individual they are addressing. They are benefiting from your easy-to-adapt
techniques that transform good into great.
Your techniques
work not only for writing keynotes, but also for many other aspects
of my publishing and marketing business. The interviewing skills
alone that you taught us are worth a fortune. Patricia Fripp, you
are a master at turning a boring speech that appears to be all about
the speaker into an amazing speech that is impassioned, entertaining,
educational, relevant and profound."
Claudia Gere, Claudia Gere & Co. LLC, Helping smart people
become outstanding authors, Complete Publishing Services, www.GerePublishing.com

"Thank you for
your exquisite, theatrical, amazing presentation, filled with lots
of specific examples that everyone could relate to and remember
with ease.
The coaching you did with Tony, the gentleman from United Airlines,
was brilliant. Your ideas on how to approach the absurdity of this
complex situation ÔI was most surprised about' really work for my
talk 'It's About Choice: Solving the Healthcare Cost Dilemma.'
Your workshop is always the biggest highlight of National Speakers
Association's offerings. As usual, many attendees commented that
the session was too short. Even after five and a half hours they
were begging for more."
Nan Andrews Amish, Program Chair, National Speakers Association
Northern California
"Your NSA-NC Speakers Academy was outstanding, excellent, and extremely
helpful. I can only imagine the amount of time, energy, focus and
stamina you put into the 5+ hours you gave us."
Stephanie Reilly

"Thank you for the gift of your time on Saturday. I value and appreciate
your willingness to mentor CAPS' members.
Your session connected so many dots in my career that I hadn't realized
could be connected. I've spent 20+ years teaching non-writers that
they really can write, and I still love to unleash people's creativity
whenever possible. I'm looking forward to forging ahead while connecting
past writing and teaching experiences to my new venture as a speaker
and trainer."
Garth Roberts

"You were absolutely incredible and so gifted. You really know your
craft, and seasoned speakers were in awe! Your seminar was very,
very professional and your handouts were excellent, very useful,
and hugely informative. The people attending were so nice and friendly
that I did not want to go back to the UK!
For years
I have heard many wonderful stories about your amazing expertise
and skills. Now I have seen you in action and know that no one exaggerated.
Your personal energy, passion for what you do, and indeed YOU are
awe-inspiring, amazing, outstanding--I could go on and on, yet there
are no words in the English dictionary to do you justice."
Craig Santini, Santini International, UK

"You are amazing!
I learned so much, not the least of which was how to have more confidence
in myself. I am looking forward to establishing a name for myself
in the business world. Maybe next year we can work one-on-one on
my speaking skills. I had such a good time and came away with an
abundance of invaluable information. Thank you so much for your
contribution that you give most graciously to this world."
Lauren Cabral

"Patricia, you
have given me new insights, helping me recognize the passion I have
for trees, for my company, and for my career. The excitement I have
for what I do makes selling tree care fun. How lucky can I be to
have a fun career that so many others are interested in hearing
about? I don't know when, but I had lost or forgotten this passion.
Thanks for relighting the flame."
David Baker

"Boffo job!
Your presentation to the Minnesota Speakers Association was dynamite.
Powerful and on point.
As a long-time
Professor of Speech and a student of Listening, it is always impressive
and fun to watch speakers who impact audiences positively. Great
job...well done. You helped a large number of speakers grow as professionals."
Manny Steil

"I have heard
so many great comments since your program for the NSA Indiana Chapter.
You made a tremendious impact on all you came in contact. The profound
lessons will linger for a long time. I have already changed several
of my CD's to start out with a "bang", just like your Hollywood
model. I wanted to send my deep gratitude for giving so much of
yourself and your talents to help America's greatest NSA Chapter."
Dan Surface, President, Indiana NSA
"I learned more
practical speaking advice in your 2-day speaking seminar than in
any seminar I have ever attended! I can already see how your simple
'Fripp' method of developing a presentation will save me time and
make my presentations more entertaining. I have TONS of stories
but rarely use them. I have already left a voicemail for the Regional
Manager for the San Francisco Bay Club highly recommending you for
training our employees. Thanks again."
Mitzi Dulan, RD, Sports Nutrition and Fitness Consultant,
Bay Club
"Thank you profusely
for the awesome program you gave to NSA Tennessee. I've heard so
much about you but have never had the opportunity to hear you speak.
After your
coaching I realized that, 'There went a 9 minute story' and I'll
have to totally re-work my keynote. After considering your advice
I feel much more confident and relaxed about the whole thing! You
suggested something I knew but seldom do: go for a walk and start
talking your speech and record yourself. I did this and the information
flowed! I'm going to use this technique from now on.
Keynoting
is new to me. I've been a technical trainer for 3 years teaching
Adobe Photoshop and web design. Your ideas and insights have helped
me tremendously.
Thank you
SOOOOO much for your awesomeness!!! I'm now a huge fan."
David Humes, President-Elect NSA Tennessee
"I have been
an FSA and NSA member for many years, and your program was by far
the most worthwhile session I listened to. You are truly an inspiration
for us all."
Ricardo R. Fernandez, PE, CPM

"It was a delight
to be a part of your audience yesterday at the FSA meeting. You
certainly are a master of putting great material in an organized
structure with magnificent delivery. You were impressive to watch.
Without PowerPoint and fancy videos, you delivered your information
so well on a basic flipchart. Thank you again for sharing such wonderful
ideas ... delivering what you promised!"
Dr. Sally Goldberg

"ROI - I drove
542 miles to spend a day with Fripp. It was worth every mile and
every penny I invested. Great content, energy and value. If you
have been speaking professionally for over twenty years as I have,
or are an ambitious novice, an investment of time with Patricia
Fripp will offer big payoffs.
Frank J. Candy, MBA, PGA, CPC

"Thank you
very much for taking the time and energy to crisscross the country
to share your ideas with the members and guests of the Florida Speakers
Association yesterday. Your gracious efforts are very much appreciated.
Your presentation not only impacted our members but convinced many
of the first-time guests to join our chapter.
Keepers that caught my attention that may be included in our next
newsletter especially to benefit those who could not attend your
presentation:
1. 1st 30 Seconds is crucial for your speech.
2. Nervous about speaking to large groups: We are rarely nervous
about speaking one-on-one but only to groups; and so get to meet
as many audience members as possible in advance of your presentation.
You will already have established a connection with them.
3. Establishing importance of rating system with audience prior
to giving your talk. 'Does anyone have a philosophical or religious
reason for not rating this session excellent?' 'If I promise to
give you an excellent session and give you one, will you rate it
as excellent?' 'Bring her back and pay her double!'
4. Two ways to connect with your audience:
a. Intellectually-use your content to connect.
b. Emotionally-eye contact for more than one-second;
personalized stories and I-You ratio with mostly you so that you
get the audience emotionally involved in your presentation.
5. Three parts of speech.
a. Structure-organization: organize so that your
audience can remember your main points. You have to know your material
so well that you can almost forget it.
b. Material-what you actually say
c. Delivery-how you say it.
6. What is it with your speech that will give 5 moments?
7. Have a written copy of your speech for those people who could
not be at your presentation.
8. Memorize your opening and closing to be most effective.
9. Don't close with Q&A session because it may end on a negative
questions/comment.
10. Do not be the hero of your stories!
11. It is not your prospect's responsibility to remember you and
your name, you must do everything possible to make it easier for
them to remember your name so that they may refer and rehire you
at a much later date.
12. $50,000-Speaker: 'We could not afford to bring him in but let
me tell you what he would have said.'
13. The enemy of the speaker is sameness.
14. Stories will be more interesting and alive if dialogue is used
rather than he said or she said.
15. Prepare your audience for the close. "Let me close by."
16. ACT on good ideas or they are wasted.
17. Try to tie in your closing so that there is a connection with
your opening.
18. Go to fripp.com, Speech Coaching or Click

Speak: How to Turn Dull into Dynamic!"
Steve Camp

"Your speaking
school was such a treat! After watching you and attending your classes
for years I still learn so much new. I liked your notion of sound
bites and rhythm in a speech. I've joined my church choir and the
director emphasizes the same thing when we sing, how to accent phrases
to sound a certain way, from 'bright' to 'war' to 'brassy' to 'crisp'
to 'hushed but intense!' You have such a talent for bringing the
creative and feeling side to words and sentences in a talk. I like
to try out your ideas and suggestions when I teach in the classroom.
Thank you again for the inspiration and opportunity to be with you
and learn from you and to experience the Fripp magic again first
hand!"
Vicki Wynne

"Thank you so
much for the wonderful four days. Before the seminar I was wondering
how you would find enough material to fill four days. Not to worry!
You gave us an intense, information-packed and highly-energetic
course, filled with real-life examples.
I was amazed
at your unflagging energy and your personal interest in each of
us. I loved the way you came early, stayed late and hung around
during breaks. I used to want to escape from the crowd. Now, after
watching you, I will be deeply involved from start to finish.
Your coaching
on my opening lines was profound. Your coaching helped me not only
with my opening; I will use the same principles throughout my entire
speech. Pause, pause, pause. Cut out unnecessary words. Don't prance
around so much. Finish each sentence on a key word. Stand still
when making a profound point. Pause, pause, pause. Tell personal
stories. Don't tell jokes. Pause, pause, pause.
I put 'advanced'
on my questionnaire, because I have been speaking all my life and
thought I was pretty darn good. In retrospect, I should have put
'intermediate' because you have shown me a whole new level of performance.
Thanks again,
Patricia, for your passion, your enthusiasm, your knowledge."
Steve Savage, Savage International

"Helping you
at the January NSA-CF Meeting was such a delight. Thank you so much
for the opportunity. You have helped me to raise my standard as
a speaker and to think differently about my own stories. The materials
you gave me have helped me tremendously so far. For example, 'Success
Secrets of the Motivational Superstars' has changed my life. Every
time I feel a little depressed or discouraged, I reread your story
or the stories about Tony Robbins or Les Brown, etc., until I regain
my strength. My speeches will never be the same, thanks to the template
that you gave me."
